Inspiration Series: Beautiful Photography of Women
I’m going to keep it short today.
First up, do yourself a favor and click on this player to hear Alana Davis’s 32 Flavors which was released circa 1997. This is one of my favorite songs of all time, and I think it is fitting to listen to this while scrolling through the below photographs.
I am feeling very feminine today, so I’ve chosen to include a poem from one of my favorite poets..Jewel. I’ve interspersed the poem throughout the photos, starting below.
If you’ve never picked up her book A Night Without Armor it is a book I highly suggest. I even recall taking it to a class one time for a project and accidentally leaving it in the lab–only to return to find it stolen. So that should tell you something, perhaps?;)
Jewel’s “As a Child I Walked” from A Night Without Armor
As a Child I Walked
As a child I walked
with noisy fingers
along the hemline
of so many meadows

This series of photographs caught my eye and deserve to be shared. I hope you enjoy
shock of sky…
I’d sit on logs like pulpits
listen to the sermon
and find god in Simplicity
there amongst the dandelion
I am a postergirl with no poster” ~ Alana Davis
I am 32 flavors and then some…
Everyone harbors a secret hatred for the prettiest girl in the room…
Never forgetting where I come from…
…Looking for truth, and there is none.
